| The Nesbitt School of Pharmacy is pleased to announce scholarship opportunities for the Spring 2026 semester and the 2026–2027 academic year. A variety of scholarships are available for students who meet the specified criteria. If you have previously earned a degree, please indicate this in your submission so it can be considered as part of the financial need assessment. Please review the information below to determine your eligibility and confirm that you are able to complete all application requirements. When submitting your essay, include the name of the scholarship in the essay title to clearly identify the award for which you are applying. At the top of your essay, list only your name and current professional year (e.g., P1). All application materials must be emailed to Dr. Justin Collins at justin.collins@wilkes.edu no later than 11:59 PM on Sunday, March 8. All scholarships share the same deadline. If financial need is part of the scholarship criteria, a completed FAFSA must be on file. Kibbe Pharmacy Scholarship The Pharmacy Scholarship criteria includes academic performance, financial aid need, and an essay. The essay should address “the type of alumni I hope to be.” Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for undergraduate level financial aid awards, but this does not exclude any students from applying. Although the deadline is within this semester, please note that this scholarship would not be applied to your financial account until next academic year (2026-2027). Samuel Berk Memorial Scholarship Scholarship criteria includes academic performance, financial aid, and an essay. The student should submit a one-page essay on “involvement in School of Pharmacy and community extracurricular activities.” Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for undergraduate level financial aid awards, but this does not exclude any students from applying. Although the deadline is within this semester, please note that this scholarship would not be applied to your financial account until next academic year (2026-2027). The Francis S. and Mary G. Carrozza Scholarship This scholarship will be awarded to Wilkes University Nesbitt School of Pharmacy students in good academic standing, with financial need. Preference will be given to students who graduated from Luzerne County high schools. The scholarship will be awarded to one or more students in each of the three (P1-P3) classes. The amount of the scholarship will be determined each year by an equal split of the scholarship portion of the total funds made available to the university. The one page essay should list your current year, Luzerne County High School in which you graduated from, along with the impact Luzerne County has had on shaping you, and financial need (if applicable). William Rice Scholarship The scholarship is based on academic performance, financial need, and contributions to campus diversity efforts. The student is required to write a one-page word essay on “their contributions to campus diversity efforts.” Academic performance and financial need information will be provided by the University. Preference will be given to students who are not eligible for undergraduate level financial aid awards, but this does not exclude any students from applying. Although the deadline is within this semester, this scholarship would not be applied to your financial account until next academic year (2026-2027). Walgreens Multilingual Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a single student who is fluent in one or more languages in addition to English with an interest in community pharmacy. While not required to apply, please include if you are a current Walgreens employee. Students who meet these criteria should submit a one-page essay addressing the criteria and clearly identify which language(s) they are fluent in. A student must not have been a previous recipient of this specific scholarship. This scholarship will be applied this semester. Walgreens Diversity & Inclusion Excellence Scholarship This scholarship is awarded to a single student with an interest in community pharmacy. Additionally, the student must describe how they embrace and promote diversity and inclusion initiatives on campus OR how they represent an underrepresented minority group. While not required to apply, please include if you are a current Walgreens employee. The student should submit a one-page essay describing how they meet the criteria. A student must not have been a previous recipient of this specific scholarship. This scholarship will be applied this semester. Nesbitt Cares Scholarship If you are a student who has an extenuating situation that has created a financial hardship this year, please submit an essay to be considered for this scholarship. The essay statement should be no longer than one page and share the circumstance. This scholarship will be applied this semester. The Alanah ’21 and Cody Morcom PharmD ’20 Pharmacy Leadership Scholarship This scholarship supports a Doctor of Pharmacy student at Wilkes University who demonstrates financial need and a strong record of leadership. The scholarship recognizes a student who actively contributes to the university community through leadership in pharmacy organizations, campus leadership roles, etc. It is intended to support the next generation of pharmacy leaders who embody service, initiative, and a commitment to advancing healthcare. Preference is given to a first-generation student. The Nesbitt Family Charitable Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Pharmacy This scholarship was established by Geraldine T. Nesbitt, granddaughter of Geraldine Nesbitt Orr. The scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student from Wyoming Valley who is pursuing a degree in pharmacy. First preference will go to a single parent. The student must demonstrate financial need. Minimum GPA 2.8 The Nesbitt Impact Scholarship This scholarship was created by the A to Z Impact Foundation and will be awarded to P1 or P2 Pharmacy Students who show financial need. Students will submit an essay to the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy that shares some information about themselves, addresses their financial need, and what a Pharmacy Degree will mean to them. Students should describe community involvement as well as their plans for future work. The Geraldine T. Nesbitt Scholarship in Pharmacy This scholarship was established by Geraldine T. Nesbitt, granddaughter of Geraldine Nesbitt Orr. The scholarship shall be awarded annually to a student from the Wyoming Valley, who is pursuing a degree in pharmacy. The student must demonstrate financial need. (Financial need and a 3.0 minimum GPA are the criteria) |
